The EPS, a novel, shaftless thruster concept, has recently been launched by Van Der Velden Marine Systems and already it has scooped up several awards. In November last year, the EPS won the prestigious Design at METS Award and it was declared the overall winner of the DAME Award 2005.In addition,the EPS was also acclaimed winner of the Propulsion, Electrical and Mechanical category. What makes the EPS so special?
