This paper presents new findings obtained in an ongoing research program at MARIN, which concerns cavitating tip vortices on ship propellers and the broadband hull pressure fluctuations they cause. The appearance of resonant pulsations of the cavitating vortex core is investigated through analysis of model scale hull pressure signals and theoretical study. Results indicate that there is a relation between the pressure fluctuations and the pulsations of the cavitating vortex.
