AuthorsBovens, N., Randall, M., Collins, M., Weder, G.
Conference/JournalInternational Conference on Marine Simulation and Ship Manoeuvrability (MARSIM’O9), Panama City, Panama
Date17 Aug 2009

This article addresses the topic of anchor-handling simulation, a relatively new area where simulation technology is being stretched to new boundaries to provide high-quality training value for offshore-related operations such as anchor handling and towing. Crucial elements that are addressed are safety issues and typical operations, ship modelling, seakeeping, heavy (external) force modules, catenary systems, 3D modelling, DP systems, and animation and visualization technologies.
