Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen of Infrastructure and Water Management has given the go-ahead for a unique cooperation in the field of smart shipping. In the Kooren Terminal in Rotterdam she launched the Dutch Forum Smart Shipping (SMASH!)
Smart Shipping Smash
In this forum, market participants, knowledge institutions and governments will work together on a large scale to implement smart shipping. During the inauguration there were already several types of smart ships to see. The minister and other attendees got a taste of the far-reaching possibilities of these smart and (partly) autonomous sailing ships.
SMASH! is initiated by Nederland Maritiem Land, TKI Maritiem, TKI Dinalog, Ministry of Infrastructure and Watermanagement, NMT, KVNR, EICB, Municipality of Rotterdam, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam, Havenbedrijf Amsterdam, Groningen SeaPorts, Maritime Delta, Innovation Quarter, TU Delft and MARIN.
