Ships and installations have to fulfil requirements and have to perform in accordance with regulations posed by either owners, local governments, classification societies, the IMO, IALA or for instance NATO. MARIN has the perfect facilities, knowledge and experience to verify whether these requirements are being fulfilled.

The manoeuvring capabilities of a ship or the structural or dynamic loads of an installation, can be predicted by numerical methods, simulations, model tests, virtual trials (using our simulators) or full-scale trials during operation. With these activities MARIN supports governments, classification agencies and other market parties in developing policy advice and new design rules and regulations.
