Workshop on Verification and Validation of Ship Manoeuvring Simulation Methods

The purpose of the SIMMAN workshop is to benchmark the capabilities of manoeuvring prediction methods through comparisons with towing tank results for tanker (KVLCC2), container (KCS), and surface combatant hull form (ONRT) test cases. A variety of methods including CFD predictions are available for predicting forces and trajectories. Previous SIMMAN workshops have been focused on deep and shallow water manoeuvres. Keeping the focus of previous workshops, SIMMAN 2020 deals with manoeuvring in waves.

On behalf of MARIN, Frans Quadvlieg will act as Co-chairman of the the executive organizing committee and Chairman of Session 4: “Assessment trajectories”. Serge Toxopeus will be Chairman of session 2: “Assessment captive tests”.
