At Euronaval ETME will present the concept and capabilities of the Unmanned Semi-fixed Sea Platforms for maritime Surveillance (USSPS) including the MARIN USSPs 1 : 18.5 scale test model. The model was tested in combined current, wave and wind conditions in MARIN's Offshore Basin. Video footage will show the behaviour of the platform in the limiting operational conditions with a significant wave height of 3.0 m at a peak period of 7.0 s.
The USSPS system aims at combining innovative solutions for the integration and coordination of C5ISTAR capabilities to generate maritime surveillance networks of sensors based on semi fixed unmanned platforms. The USSPs project is being developed by an European consortium led by ETME. The consortium brings together major European industrial actors, as well as research centers. Within this project MARIN has been involved from the pre-feasibility studies until detailed design phase of the platform, the power system and launch and recovery capabilities of the UxV’s.
